I’ve been working on a logo design these past few weeks to “brand” me as an author. I plan to use it on various things, like my short story collection that’ll be coming out in a few months. And of course, this here website. You can see it up at the top of the blog page or on the site’s main page.
I’m also brewing up some artwork for the release of The Flames of Shadam Khoreh, and I’ll use it there. Maybe some CafePress items as well. Basically anything that has some space for a logo, I’m going to add it just to bring together the various projects I’m working on and create an identity of sorts.
Here’s the final incarnation.
I think it turned out pretty snazzy. I’m excited to start using it a bit more now that I have it. I may make some minor tweaks here and there, like “flattening” it for lower-res images or for use on tee shirts and such.
What do you think?

It looks great, Brad. I like this lighter version of it very much.
Thanks, Juliette! It does change in complexion a bit with the different backgrounds that are placed on it, doesn’t it?
Where’s the P? And I love it!
Ha! And I even made the P more obvious in this version! At least, I thought I did…
Just realised /facepalm I’m a dolt.
It’s still not super obvious, but that’s ok. I don’t mind if not everyone sees it immediately.
Very nice, looks great!
Thanks much, Brian!
A wonderful idea. Try to flip the sword and a little differently styled up a tree.
Thanks, Mila! Yeah, the tree was a difficult thing. I like more detail to it, but it doesn’t scale down well. The neat thing is I can revamp it every so often with a different tree, different sword, and so on, but still keep the basic design intact.
The logo looks fantastic! Did you do that yourself?
Thanks, Justin. I actually held a design contest through 99designs and then took the design and tweaked it in Photoshop. I think it turned out pretty cool.
