A Thorough Reflection on Wellspring
I've been rather remiss in not posting my thoughts about the Wellspring Writing Workshop that I organized and ran with ten lovely writers in Lake Geneva this past June. I did post a fair bit about it before the workshop, though, including a podcast with Greg Wilson over at our podcast site, Speculate. Plus, I knew that we were eventually going to post some video. Thanks to Greg, that video is now up and available via Episode 21 of Speculate. It's not currently streamed (we're still working on that), but if you're curious at all about this style of workshop, give it a view. It's pretty illuminating.
It was a lot of fun running the workshop, and watching the video really brought that all back to me. I've been so busy these past few months, but I'm still reaping the rewards of the workshop. Why? Because I'm just finishing up the revisions on The Straits of Galahesh, which stemmed largely from the feedback from my editor and the Wellspring participants. And let's be clear: the benefits go way beyond a simple revision to a ms. This is just the most immediate benefit.
In any case, it was a wonderful experience, one I hope to participate in again, including running another one if that's what the cards have in store for me.
