I just found out that my story, “In the Eyes of the Empress's Cat”, was voted a Notable Stories of 2006 by the Million Writers Award, conducted by storySouth. How cool is that? I literally gasped when I saw my name, because I quickly scanned the writers and didn't catch it at first. I'm very psyched and very pleased that Scott Card gave me a chance by publishing that story. He also helped me edit the piece, as he was still editing the magazine at that time.
